About This Production
The Black Box is an experimental performance that explores three topics; Grief, Mortality and Human Ego, and how they are intertwined. It is really fascinating that we are temporary beings in this world, yet our daily lives are structured as if we are here permanently. Even though we actually know the fact that we are mere mortals, grief is what actually reminds us of that fact.Grief has the power to dissolve the human ego, in that, when people experience deep loss, many of the usual concerns just fade. At that moment, we freeze and feel that moment, and have time to reflect on life and death. This performance will employ different theatre styles, and also borrow from my practice of woodworking and painting workshops to dissect this oftenly frowned upon topics.
